Downloads - Version 1.7.6

Introduction

This page contains all of the downloads for version 1.7.6. It should be noted that all of the revisions contained in the main 1.7.6 package and the patches below have been incorporated into version 1.7.7 which is available on the main Downloads page. If you are new to CQ/X you should begin by downloading version 1.7.7.

CD-ROM Availability

The version currently available on CD-ROM is version 1.7.7. If the size (~100MB) of the 1.7.7 download package poses a problem for your connection you can request a CD-ROM version. Send your request to the email address on the Support page.

Main Package Download - version 1.7.6

Please review the Installation Instructions file prior to downloading the complete package. 
Please also note the following:
  1. If you have a previous version of the software please make sure you have saved any log file (CQxClientLogView.log) that you have not finalized since this file will be overwritten during the installation.
  2. If you have a version of the software prior to and including version 1.4 you should uninstall that version before installing 1.7.4. If you have a version later than version 1.4 you can install the new version on top of the old one.
Begin the Download - To begin the download of the latest version (1.7.6) right click on this link CQX Download Package and elect to save the file to a directory of your choosing. The download package is approximately 100MB. The download time will, of course, depend on the speed of your connection.

Upzip the Package - Once the download is complete unzip the package. This will result in two files: a small ReadAbout... pdf file and a setup exe file. 

Install the software - Run the exe file to install the software.

Install the following patches - After downloading each patch file you will need to unzip it to obtain two files: A small ReadAbout...pdf file describing what's contained in the patch and a larger Setup....exe file. After reviewing the ReadAbout file run the setup file to install the patch.

Download Patch 176-01:This patch installs support for special keystroke combinations on the Similar Calls list, special keystroke combinations to perform RIT tuning, and removal of a dialog for the OK QP. Right click on this link Patch_176-01 and elect to save the file to download the patch.

Download Patch 176-02:This patch revises the naming convention for the 7QP, and adds support for the KSQP, and NYQP and adds a number of enhancements/corrections. See the revisions page for details. Right click on this link Patch_176-02 and elect to save the file to download the patch.

Download Patch 176-03:This patch adds some assignable keys for use with the K3, fixes a missing county in the Colorado QSO party, and two missing counties in the Washington state part of the 7QP, and improves the logic for counties in the 7QP and NEQP that require multiple polygons for their complete description. See the revisions page for additional information on the revisions. Right click on this link Patch_176-03 and elect to save the file to download the patch.

Download Patch 176-04:This patch corrects/revises some multiplier data issues for the 7QP, adds a dialog for setting Cabrillo header information, upgrades the program to be Cabrillo 3.0 compliant, and improves the multiplier parsing function. Right click on this link Patch_176-04 and elect to save the file to download the patch. Note: There is a problem with this patch, be sure to follow it with 176-05 in order to fix. 

Download Patch 176-05:This patch corrects a problem with 176-04, adds support for the Missouri and West Virginia QSO parties, adds an option to allow non-adjacencies in the trip planning dialog, and adds a band map feature. Right click on this link Patch_176-05 and elect to save the file to download the patch.

Download Patch 176-06:This patch adds support for the New Jersey QSO party and the CQWW WPX contest and corrects a problem with the GPS menu, and adds support for logging and scoring of RTTY QSOs in state QSO parties. Download Patch 176-07:This patch includes support for the Iowas QSO party, an antenna-mode dependent power level feature to the K3 module, ability to change GPS advisory mode from the advisory mode indicator, and improves ability of CQ/X and SimGPS to utilize com ports throughout the 1-255 range. Download Patch 176-08: This patch fixes a problem with a missing WinKey restart file and a problem using non-default baud rates to communicate with the radios. Right click on this link Patch_176-08 and elect to save the file to download the patch.

Download Patch 176-09: This patch allows com ports above 99 for radios and keyers, adds a delete all waypoints button to the GPS parameters display, improves the Similar Calls display, fixes a problem with control of the K3 RIT, improves the dialog used in multi-county line operation, fixes a problem with the Enter key when doing S&P, changes the previous QSO look up from manual to automatic, and adds support for the Yaesu FT-2000 and FT-9000. Download Patch 176-10:This patch improves the ability to buffer a second caller, provides a more concise next county message, provides dedicated keys for shortened QSL messages, fixes a scoring problem for the Colorado and Iowa QSO Parties, fixes a missing multiplier (IN) problem for the Iowa QSO Party, fixes a problem wherein the new county message would revert to the previous county for one cycle during county changeover, fixed a problem wherein the GPS Manual Advisory mode continues prompting for a decision after one has already been made, and added a key-assignable task for activating the GPS Auto Advisory mode.
