Main Package Download - version 1.8.0

Please review the Installation Instructions file prior to downloading the complete package. 
Please also note the following:
  1. If you have a previous version of the software please make sure you have saved any log file (CQxClientLogView.log) that you have not finalized since this file may be overwritten during the installation.
  2. If you have a version of the software prior to and including version 1.7.4 you should uninstall that version before installing 1.8.0. If you have a version later than version 1.7.4 you can install this new version on top of the old one.
Begin the Download - To begin the download of version (1.8.0) right click on CQX Download Package-1.8.0 and elect to save the file to a directory of your choosing. Patches for 1.8.0 are shown below along with links to be used to download them. 

Upzip the Package - Once the download is complete unzip the package. This will result in two files: a small ReadAbout... pdf file and a setup exe file. It is recommended that you read the ReadAbout file 

Install the software - Run the Setup file to install the software.



Updating Version 1.8.0- If you are interested in continuing to use base version 1.8.0 there are a number of patches (see below) that will need to be installed in 1.8.0 in order to bring it up to the level of 1.8.1 

Here are all of the patches for 1.8.0. 

Download Patch 180-01:  Included in this patch:
  • Updated polygons for the county boundaries in the MARAC and Michigan QSO parties;
  • added capture of GPS logging data in the QSL Ready format as a default that will occur without user action;
  • fixed a problem wherein the GPS log data for a QSO was being captured at log time rather than when the first exchange is sent causing the county logged and the GPS coordinates to sometimes be inconsistent;
  • fixed a problem wherein the program would hang when dirving past the end of the Google map drive path;
  • fixed a problem wherein on a long trip (e.g. Orlando to Seattle) the process for finding county line crossings would stall;
  • added the capability to create a GPS file from a Google map for use as input to the GPS Simulator;
  • updated the sections in the ARRL Sweepstakes and Field Day to reflect recent changes in the Ontario section;
  • added the capability to produce grid line crossings from a Google map of a route and to produce the KML file to enablie posting of the grid and route overlay on a Google map;
  • fixed a date problem when the program is used in the UK;
  • added the capability to perform a timing analysis for use by mobile operators to identify counties requiring a stop and to check the feasibility of a proposed route based on average driving speed and other factors;
  • fixed a problem wherein additional characters were being sent in the CQT (TU) message when using the K3 internal keyer;
  • added a key-assignable task to send the CQT (TU) message without requiring that all exchange information be present in the entry window;
  • fixed a logging problem related to US stations operating portable in Canada;
  • fixed a problem with the location cues;
  • added the ability to export waypoint files in KML format for use in Google Maps;
  • corrected a startup problem related to the log loading progress bar for systems running XP SP3.

Download Patch 180-02: Included in this patch:
  • Updated version of the Quick Start Using GPS document;
  • added the semi-colon and apostrophe keys to the special keys;
  • added buttons to launch the Edit Messages and Assign Keys dialogs;
  • added 1 to the available number of characters required to trigger the Send CQX while Entering feature;
  • revised the buttons on the Keyer Parameters dialog;
  • added a menu item to access a pdf of county names and their abbreviations;  
  • added a "Counties Along Route" option on the direct entry/selection of current county;
  • fixed some non-functional buttons on the K3 control subset display when using the KX3; 
  • added a display for viewing the current set of county crossings;
  • added options to the startup screen to automatically reconnect devices and another option to skip the wizard;
  • modified the definition files for NC QP, NH QP, MS QP to reflect changes;
  • fixed a problem with auto-fill when using the multi-county dialog;
  • fixed some problems with the K3 full interface.

Download Patch 180-03: Included in this patch: 
  • Fixed a broken link (Propagation Conditions) in the Help Menu;
  • added support for the multi-QP MI-SD-ON-ND-NE QSO Party;
  • added aliases to support an alternate set of county abbreviations for the Nebraska QSO Party;
  • modified the file of available 1x1 calls supporting the spelling feature of the Florida QSO Party;
  • added pdf files supporting the look up of county names and their abbreviations for a number of QSO parties;
  • added county name expansion files for a number of QSO parties to support the ADIF log;
  • fixed a problem wherein entry of M=SSB was not resulting in the conventional USB/LSB mode for a given band;
  • modified the direct entry of mode, speed, and frequency to make it more efficient;
  • added a Help menu item to check for program Revisions;
  • added the number of unique calls worked to the statistics;
  • fixed a scoring problem and a missing DLL function for the FOC QP;
  • provided a separate dialog for the GPX to KML conversion task.

  • Fixed a broken link to 3830  in the File Menu;
  • fixed a problem wherein the KX3 would not send a CQ message;
  • updated the permissible bands for the CWOps-MiniCWT contest;
  • fixed a problem wherein the startup option "Load Previous Configuration, Auto-Connect Devices, and Skip Wizard" would cause a crash when a GPS was present.

Download Patch 180-05: Included in this patch:
  • Updated county abbreviations for the North Dakota QSO Party;
  • revised rules for the Florida, Arkansas, Kansas, and Minnesota QSO Parties;
  • added seconds to the log to support LOTW submissions;
  • removed description of an obsolete method from the document describing use of a Google map to build a route;
  • revised the configuration decisions document and the Quick Reference for Use of a GPS document;
  • added a document outlining the options for using a GPS and for providing route information for use by the program;
  • added an indicator that the multiplier currently being worked is needed on the other mode;
  • added ability to generate a report of multipliers available on each mode but needed on the other mode;
  • added ability to specify a QSY message for each band of operation;
  • added the capability to determine county line crossings and time of crossing from a GPS recording;

  • fixed a problem with auto-fill when using the right radio;
  • added automatic cancellation of the use of the right radio QSO entry area for previous QSO info when using the right radio

  • Fixed some status indicators that were false alarming;
  • added spell-checking to flag county spelling errors during the process of preparing county activity KML files;
  • improved the county boundary model for some counties in SE Kansas to improve county detection when entering from out of state;
  • added detection of log formating errors during startup and provided a means of reviewing/correcting incorrectly formated entries;
  • improved the formating of station information on the county activity map;
  • added a driver network that wirelessly provides driver information (distance/time to next three waypoints, distance/time to next county, etc) via display on an Android device.

  • changed the backup scheme to be incremental;
  • updated the user notes for mobile operators to include information about the CQX-Driver interface;
  • updated the Arizona QSO Party to reflect new rules;
  • fixed a problem wherein messages containing certain county abbreviations were being mangled on a county change;
  • fixed a problem wherein the 1x1 ID message remained enabled after that type of operation was over;
  • fixed a problem wherein some QSO parties would not log PA and YU;
  • added a multi-QP for the Salmon Run and South Carolina QSO parties;
  • added the option to omit the question mark at the end of the last word query message;
  • fixed a problem with the calculation of time to next county when traversing a bi-directional branch.
